General Event Programming
Wearable Faith: Living By What You Believe - When is the last time you tried on your faith to see how it fits? Are you still defining your faith by what you remember from Sunday School ten, twenty or thirty years ago? It may be time to clear out your closet, see where your faith has grown over the years, and decide how you would like it to look in the future. My Grandma Clara liked to say, "Whether you know it or not you live by what you believe." Do you know how you live by what you believe?
Journaling Your Journey: Writing Your Faith - How has your faith informed your life? Considering how your spiritual story has unfolded can reveal how you perceive God, your purpose in life and how your understanding of the holy shapes your life. Discover how God has always worked on your behalf, and learn how to pay attention for how God is assisting you in the present by journaling memories, moments and scenes from your own life journey.
Visiting With God: Prayer At Its Best - What does your prayer life look like? Are you satisfied with having God as a friendly acquaintance? Or would you like to be able to invite God into your home, and your heart, for some really great sharing and conversation over coffee, the way you would with a trusted friend? The Bible gives us guides, information and personal stories of individuals who have enjoyed close comunication with God. We also each have stories to share about how God has entered our lives in mysterious, yet familiar ways. Talking honestly with God and listening with an open heart, mind and soul is what prayer is all about.
Seasonal Event Programming
Thanksgiving and Giving - There really is more to this season than family feuds, football games and pumpkin pie. What are we most grateful for, and what are we willing to give to make the world look more the way God intended?
Advent: Preparing for God With Us - We make space in our lives for so many things that irritate and annoy us, and sap our energy. The blessings of this season offer the joy of making room for something quite wonderful, if we are willing.
Lent: Abundance in the Wilderness - Contrary to popular belief, not all wilderness experiences are created equal, nor do they always involve giving up what we love. Sometimes the wilderness, like Lent, is a time to set aside distractions and focus in on what we love best and want most for our lives.
Pentacost: Blessings and Gifts - While many of us are beginning to identify our spiritual gifts, learning how and where to effectively use them and understanding what blessings they hold for our own lives is equally important and delightful.
Trinity: God Our Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer - How do you see God creating, redeeming and sustaining the world? How does God's creative power, redeeming love and sustaining spirit inform your life, your community? The season of Trinity lasts a long time and gives us plenty of opportunity to explore the abundance of who God is and how God acts among us.
